Hi,
At first step, I just drag the events on the timeline, until the waveforms look to match.
When something is quiet, Shift-arrow up can help, that will magnify the sound.
When the waveforms look like “lined up”, pan one track to left, the other to right completely.
This makes the sound something ike bouncy echoed (from left to right or the opposite), and it is clearly audible which is faster or delayed. Zoom in the timeline enough, and while playing back press 4/6 on the numpad few times (that moves the selected event) , so that the echo gets minimal. Done: audio are in sync, reset the pan.
If there are more than 2 records to sync I take one as a kind of master, and sync the other tacks to that one with this procedure, one at a time, and mute the the rest.
Once the events are synced, I group them.
Syncing a 3 cam shot (3 audio tracks) takes approx. 3 minutes this way 😉Best regards

December 15, 2016 at 6:16 am in reply to: 60FPS Rendering Troubles [Movie Studio Platinum 12.0]Hi,
I’m absolutely unsure, but to me this looks like there’s a framerate conversion behind the scenes.
Is your source media exactly 59.940 too?
Maybe you could try exactly 60fps project/render settings. I mean 60.000 instead of 59.940.Best regards

Hi,
If you copy (to clipboard) an event which has keyframed effect(s), and then paste attributes to another event, that will get the keyframed effect(s) . That’s also true, if you paste attributes to multiple events, all those will get the same keyframed effect(s).
In this meaning PEA is KF capable.
But from nothing or static effects PEA will not create KF.
(or I never seen such behavior)Best regards

December 14, 2016 at 7:54 am in reply to: Check which video files are already in the Project/in useHi,
I’m really glad I could help.
However…
[Dennis Peters] “I run into this problem too many times somehow hehe.”I never ran into this problem – or at least I don’t remember ☺ . I always open a new empty folder for a project. Depending on the complexity of the project, I put the footages into the root of the project folder, or into subdirectories in it.
I often work with multicam shots, so I used to store the footages of each cameras in different subfolders.
Something like
Project folder
|
|–camera1
|–camera2
|–camera3
. . . .
Some musics and pictures I may add later can go into the root of the project folder.
If it’s a simple project, say a short single cam shot, everything may go into the root of the project folder.
At the very beginning add all media to the project into bins.
Whenever I need a new item, say a graphic, I first copy it to the project folder, then add it to a media bin, or directly to the timeline.
So it depends, how I organize, but everything related to that project will be in that folder, so I always know what’s in that project. Backing up is easy too, Just copy the whole project folder to another drive, and I can be sure everything needed for that project is duplicated.
(If you ever had a HDD crash, you know this can be a lifesaver – if you never had a failing HDD, then you are going to have it once.)Best regards

December 13, 2016 at 8:36 am in reply to: Check which video files are already in the Project/in useHi, I don’t use Mediamanager, so I would use a different approach. Maybe this can help you too. ????
1. Do I understand right, you need all those thousands videos in you project?
Simply drag them all to your project media/all media bin.
If there are some videos already in your project, nothing happens to them, but the new videos are added to the project (use count will be zero until you start to use them on the timeline).
2. If you need to separate what’s in the project and what’s not:
I would save the project to a separate (empty) folder. Just make sure, to check “copy media with project” on the “save as…” dialog. That will copy the mediafiles used in the project to that folder as well.
After doing that, a file manager, like Total commander can compare directories, and select files in both directories which are missing from the other directory. Then for example: in the original source directory you can invert the selection, and delete the selected files (or more secure to move them to a temporary folder, just in case…). So you’ll have the files already in your project in the new directory, where you did the save as with copy media from Vegas. In the original source folders you’ll have only the files which don’t belong to your project.
This is how I would do – without using Meida Manager.

Hi,
Here’s a 3 cam shot. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSw-9ATjOWM)
Total playing time: 02:25
Sources: 50fps FHD AVC (25 Mbps) from JVC HM600 (2X)
25 fps AVC (25Mbps) from Canon XA10
Effects used: Color Curves on JVC material; Color curves, Color correction on Canon material,
Levels on video output. The target is first 25fps FHD, mp4: Mainconcept AVC/AAC (25Fps, 15Mbps Average 22Mbps max), because this is the template I use mostly. It derives from the builtin “Internet HD” template ????
So the results:Render time using OpenCL: 01:38 (~0.6 X realtime) resulted in 276MB filesize
Render using CPU only: 06:59 (~ 2.8 X realtime) resulted in 355 MB filesize. The 2 files have visually the same quality. For me it looks like the OpenCL render does more respect to the template settings, as the CPU only render resulted in approx 19Mbps average bitrate, which is slightly lower than the 22Mbps maximum. I really did not change anything in the template, just the “Render using: ” part.
I also did the same test for builtin Inernet HD template (only changed the framerate to 25 fps, because I don’t want to render to 29.97 fps from a 25P source ☺ )
Render using OpenCL: 01:36 (filesize 221 MB)
Render using CPU only: 06:54 (filesize 293 MB)CPU: i5 -3570; GPU: AMD Radeon 6970.

December 8, 2016 at 10:16 pm in reply to: Pixellated Video in Preview but not in Original File?Hi,
And how is your preview quality set up in Vegas14?
If you render it and play in the player, is it pixelated then too?Best regards
