I used an Apple Cinema Display for years until it died. That’s when some of the trouble started. I have a Dell monitor 2k that has been fine on my older macpro system which has been more stable then the macbookpro. When I have tried to add a 4k monitor I had problems. We’ll see if my laptop works with the LG ultrafine when it arrives. I don’t think the 4k monitor that’s in the shop will work with my older machine…

yep, Big Sur… I just purchased a refurbished LG ultrafine monitor so I hope it will be more compatible, the 4k with thunderbolt 3 connectors. My other monitor is in the shop checking to see if there is any problem with it. It’s an LG 27UK850-W 27″ 4k UHD IPS monitor. I connected it with the cables it came with (tried them all). I think I settled on usb-c. I also bought a dock and tried to connect peripherals to that. It only happens when I connect external displays. The projects are 4k. I’m not sure about mixing 2k and 4k. I was using a Dell monitor which used to work fine with my old macpro. I’m pretty sure I also bought a cable that was supposed to work with 4k monitors.

You’re right, I just turn it on with Mercury Transit I guess.

I’m using OS Mojave 10.14.6. I have a MacPro, (late 2013), 3.5 GHZ 6-core Intel Xeon E5. Yes I use Mercury Transmit and drag window over.

Just went through the same thing. Only a clean install worked.

Thanks for your response. I eventually had someone at Adobe do a very clean install. That finally
allowed me to open the project, take out any troublesome scripts and plugins and now working fine.
fyi I had uninstalled Creative Cloud and all of the programs but that wasn’t enough.
