My After Effects file will no longer open (one hour project)

Hi Everyone,

So my biggest nightmare… A one hour project fails to open after working with Creative Cloud people. I would have to go back a VERY LONG WAY to get to the last time the file opened. The next Creative Cloud guy said the file opened on his computer. I have uninstalled all Adobe products and reinstalled but I still can’t open a later version of the file. Any suggestions? It worked the day before yesterday.

I am working on mac 10.14.5 and was having a lot of updatestarterutility crashes.

open a new project and import that project into the new one. have caps lock on when you do this.

No. The program opens but nothing in the file imports, even if I create a new project and import it. I just tried it on my wife’s laptop and it imports fine, but her computer has very little ram compared to mine. But that does mean it’s not my file but something on my computer. I’ve reinstalled creative cloud, but already I’m getting a crash on After Effects but I don’t know how to explain what it’s saying. However, it did say something about <5> BEE_WorkQueue_PreCloseProject end but I’m not sure if that was in relation to that file or just crashing.

I’d try resetting preferences as my first troubleshooting step. Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (macOS) while starting After Effects.

Hi

Thanks for your response. I eventually had someone at Adobe do a very clean install. That finally
allowed me to open the project, take out any troublesome scripts and plugins and now working fine.
fyi I had uninstalled Creative Cloud and all of the programs but that wasn’t enough.
