Do you have a folder on there that makes it look like its the folder structure of a camera card? Like a DCIM folder at the root?

Since 10.0.6 whenever playback from the timeline isn’t doing what I expect I’ve found that going to the event browser (command-1) and then deselecting anything there (command-shift-a) then back to the timeline (command-2) it plays back as expected. Does that help?

Do you have a smaller one you could upload so someone else could try it? What’s the codec of the video clip?

Are you importing into an event created prior to 10.0.6?

I have weird issues with projects and events created pre-10.0.6

If you haven’t tried it yet, import the movie into a new event and see if that takes it.

Also make sure the movie plays back fine in quicktime.

I agree, this feature is a must. If I could do this, I’d rarely ever need to close FCPX.

Youtube and Vimeo both give pretty good guidelines, and I’d like to follow them.

My real question here is how do I do a one step compress and upload with my own settings? Is it possible?

I’ve been using my own vimeo and youtube settings for years, but skipping the browser upload step is really helpful for me.

You know I thought so too but now YouTube sends me a message suggestion I enable fast start for any video I upload direct from fcpx.

If both have the same original media, you can just send the CurrentVersion.fcpevent back and forth. You can’t merge them however, so only one can make changes to it at a time.

I don’t believe this is the official way to do it, but it works great for me for working on 2 computers.

It’s also working correctly for me now in new projects, and sort of for new markers added into old projects. Good enough for me.
