I like the quality as well. But I have had ongoing problems with audio being out of sync. When my system was Win XP 32 bit, the audio would lag a few frames. Now that I have Win 7 64-bit, the video is out of sync maybe 6 or 7 frames. :o\ And the QT h.264 codec that I use makes much bigger files than Mainconcept.

Any one else have any good but less pricey ideas?

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate your insights. And yes (sigh), I figured that CS3 and Win 7 would never play well together. Do you have any idea when CS5 is expected to come out?

    Hey Kevin,

The files I am working with are .wav files. And purging doesn’t seem to help. And the problem continues to persist. I also tried using both my sound card and onboard sound and still have the same problems.

I don’t know much about working with audio but I noticed there are sections in Preferences called AUDIO OUTPUT MAPPING and AUDIO HARDWARE (and that AUDIO HARDWARE has a setting section that allows tweaking of something called “DirectSound Output Ports). Are there any possible answers to my problem here?

Not sure yet. I haven’t worked on any large, busy projects since I took out the plugin and added more RAM. But I will know soon.

This is kind of embarrassing to admit…I had removed the openGL plugin last week because AE was crashing and I thought it might help. DOH!!! Sorry to waste people’s time. :o(

Thanks Grant, for the time you have taken to offer suggestions.

I just checked and I am current with updates. I may try uninstalling and re-installing my video drivers, in case they have somehow become corrupted.

Hey, I see you’re in Mpls. I went to college there, back in the day (U of M, in the 70’s). I was in the acting/theatre program, and acted in various theatres around town. I love the Twin Cities.

    Blessings,
    Lon
