  • I have a set up with Ppro and Vegas using Decklink HD Pro and SD-Connect. 2.5 TB Sata array internal and 2.5 TB external. We’re doing SDI, DV, HD and will be playing with HDV in two weeks. So far…so good. Can’t justify the Axio pricetag, yet.

Ran out of time, but I’ve saved care of Tim Duncan’s not to Satish’s Frameserver. Exported to Vegas as a complete avi, rendered out and reimported to Ppro. Not the best solution, but a solution none the less.

    Check it out. Nice tool.

Frameserver solved my problem. Worked as advertised – Ppro to Vegas without a hitch.

    Tim,
Have you used frameserving from PPro? I’ve got a problematic (general error) timeline that I’d love to get across to Vegas. Think this might work?

Yes. And uninstalled the plugin. That’s why I wondering if there are traces in the preview files. Everything else is plain vanilla. Thanks for taking the time. I appreciate the help.

Stripped out all third party plugs. Only CC and some Motion remain.
All exports show “generic error”. Importing into another project fails. Should I eliminate previews and conformed audio files? I’m clueless on the cause of this…

Shoot a plate = a CLEAN version of the environment without wires or rig or extraneous lights or smoke or I could go on and on…with your camera and tripod LOCKED/SANDBAGGED/VICED and monitored by someone so that under no circumstances shall it be moved, touched, shook up, bumped. Then shoot your stunt – without touching the camera. Overlay the stunt onto the clean plate and garbage matte out the rig and wires. The two layers should register seamlessly. If there are issues in Vegas with lay7ers or blending the edges of the garbage matte, I suggest After Effects (CC Simple Wire Removal tool), Combustion (lots of ways), Digital Fusion (more than lots of ways) and a bunch of other software includinh painting out the wires in Photoshop – frame by frame.

New drivers and memory tweak seemed to improve things. Thanks.

Plain vanilla 1394, with output through the DSR-11 for monitoring.

  • I’m using the latest release of DF and have a BMD HDPRO. I’m interested. I’d love to see it work.
