    Hi,

I want to upgrade my workstation for editing SD & HD (HDV). Are there experiences using Premiere Pro with HD-Video-Cards (such as Decklink or AJA)?
What hardware do I need to get near to realtime HD-editing?
I have a Sony HDV Camcorder and a DigiBeta Camera (only analog output) and would like to get the best possible quality out of it.

    Normann,

Perhaps you should investigate Matrox Axio. Tons of real time in both SD and HD. Comes at a price however. Check out the COW’s Matrox Video Editing forum. Read the posts specific to Axio and then ask your questions there for expert info.

Tanks, but there is simply no money for buying an axio system. The budged I’m speaking of is 2500 – 3000 Euro (2000 – 2500 USD).
What Hardware would fit to this budged?

I have a set up with Ppro and Vegas using Decklink HD Pro and SD-Connect. 2.5 TB Sata array internal and 2.5 TB external. We’re doing SDI, DV, HD and will be playing with HDV in two weeks. So far…so good. Can’t justify the Axio pricetag, yet.
