What other forums to people recommend – online resources etc…

  • Hmm maybe the producer is just wrong about that…so you are saying on a D5 the only 720 format is 60 fps?

    thanks

    UPDATE:

Tell me if this is the way you gusy would have done it:

I just grabbed a solid shape and had it match the black and just copied another one on top of that – both cropping the bottom and top line where ltrbx is in order to cover the over-flowing ripple cheesy effect : ))

How else could i have doen this?

    Thank you!

  • Hey there

so no engineer but we are going to have the rental place set the deck to the rate the tape is…my question is still what setings should i be capturing this footage as – easy setup??

  • I understand some of your response

the raid we have is a XRaid 2 controllers / 14 drives / at least 512mb ram each – so it should b e ok for 10 bit uncompressed.

Sorry i have never captured D5 and the specs on my original post in terms of resolution and frame rate are all i have at this point…

Any other advice or explanations would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

i am just trying to no longer use qt pro when i need to ltrbx hd material into sd (i.e. 1920×1080 into 720×486 ltrbx)

The results i get with qt pro are what i want to match exactly in compressor – whether it be for uncompressed 10 bit or h.264 – web, tv, whatever regardless i am just changing resoltuion – not adding fields or changing frame rate – i would use After Effects for that…and now i am beginning to think it might just be easier to use AE for this i nthe future…

orginally i wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone – that is do the ltrbxing AND make it an h.264 but i could npot even get the ltrbx to be correct and match what qt pro does exactly.

this seems like such a standard question and yet all the responses have given me qt files which do not match what qt pro does.

thank you for your patience and willingness to help me get to the bottom of this

If you or anyone else has ideas as to what i am doing wrong please shed the light baby!

    best

    Hello

When i try both of your settings guys it squashes the frame – i need to identically match the job that qt pro does in terms of the letrbxing – that is, it does not change a circle into an oval and the area where the ltrbxing occurs is exactly the same as what qt pro is doing.

Bottom line is i have tried both of your methods and neither are correct so if you can please let me know what else i could be doing wrong that would be great.

Wow thank you so much for including a grab ofthe settings – unfortunately this is exactly how i set everything and it is still not ltrbxing the clip!

This also brings up another question for me which is about qmaster and using all cores – does quicktime work as fast as compressor when u have set qmaster to use all of the cores on the computer?

Not sure why the ltrbxing does not work but i am stumped – ughhh!
