  • Perfectly stated!

I also feel that AI has shifted what impresses non-artistic people who may be clients. You can make something amazing but because AI can generate something just as — if not more impressive, they may shrug at your work where before, they were impressed.

I am more concerned though with free software also being a threat to longtime 3D and motion pros. People who weren’t even into the craft for lack of desire to pay are now in this space.

    Thank you, Steven!

  • I am. I no longer have RF 10 so this is my go-to. I don’t use it often, but it seems power packed and capable for the basics.

Thanks for responding so fast, Kalleheikki. I will check that out to see if it works for me. If nothing else, it’s a way to go about it based on his sample.

Michael – Thanks for swiftly responding.

I have no idea why I didn’t initially get the unmatched project settings warning before. I am new to Resolve, but based on your questions, I started a new project, imported the same footage into the Media Pool and this time got the “different settings” pop-up. I tested a clip and it rendered properly.

    Thank you!

Maya 2017 Update 3 comes with the MASH Maya to AE Live Link plugin.

However, there’s a third party one that I am using called Dark Arts Tools for Maya v 2.90 (on Highend3D). It has a tool called “Auto Locator – Maya to AFX” that allows you to select the locators and camera, press the button. It then automates the baking and creates a file with your camera and locator data for importing into AE.

    I hope that helps.

I’ve hopped over to Avid some and may re-consider when time allows me to really learn it.

I don’t understand how something can be wrong with multiple systems, but I do see how something can be wrong with one project given multiple Premiere Pro updates.

Thanks for your feedback. I am still upset and expressing myself from that position of frustration, but plan to try contacting Adobe tomorrow to hopefully avoid having to go to my office just to use Premiere.

So be it. It’s a rant and that’s how I feel. I’m paying $50/month for Premiere when I could be pirating it instead like many do.

Every non-editor I meet uses FCPX. I’ve defended FCPX and use it for quick, private projects. But it’s iMovie + Motion, basically.

And I specifically posted this in the “FCPX or Not: The Debate” forums.

I’m using it on 3 different computers. A Mac Pro from 2008 (Mavericks), MacBook Pro from 2012 (El Capitan) and a Mac Pro from 2015 (Mavericks).

I don’t see how it’s the machine. Also, enough people have had the same issue.

I’m just starting my new projects in anything but Premiere.

Same, and it’s 2016. No solution. I’m trying to reach Adobe and they’re closed. Great.
