after spending like 12 hours on a project
(my first ae project i did)
then i found some better quality footage of the same video i was using . i thought i was going to have to redue the entire thing . or rename my new HQ footage same name as old footage then reopen ae… but nope when i found the replace footage option i was so happy . thank goodness for the replace footage option . ive used it so many times . -
malcolm is prolly right dont overkill your keylighting make sure u have transparent up instead of the black background, so u know just when to stop keying .also your back ground footage looks to “pretty” and kinda fake

he has the perfect tutorial for green screening in a car . might be in the basic tutorials section .. i got it on the serious fx dvd . but i think he has it on the free basic training section .

maltannon has a preset he made to time shuffle really well and easy, or you can get andrew kramers plugin called twitch it does all your asking for its prolly the best plugin for that effect it comes out soon. untill then try maltannons time shuffler its on his site for free. then work from thier on color and size etc..

im in the exact same seat as you my friend . editor who wanted to step it up . got after effects wanted to step it up some more .i got c4d but then seen some users using 3dmax and it look easier . not sure though im going to try a few diff ones out and see which one i like more .. then buy the full install
my question is 3d harder to master then after effects . because i found after effects pretty simple. cept for few in and outs

that video example you posted says cinema 4d project rite on the video .. post this in the c4d forum . youll prolly get more help thier for this one ..

stick to your vegas editing . in couple yrs when you wanna really step it up in the industry you will be coming back to ae -
mask out the charcter throw a background behind it . add text
. save as a picture file . freeze frame on video throw in picture for a few frames , pan in . then unfreeze video . could do it some other ways as well..
