Thanks for your response. I did have a little trouble with this on first import but was able to adjust the settings to the layers sizes working properly and not dealing with the the entire width and height.

Modified Settings:
It seems that this is only a problem when ‘Continuously Rasterize’ is enabled. If it is disabled, the edge wipe does work as I had hoped it would. Once I figured out this was related to enabling ‘Continuously Rasterize’ I was able to find some similar topics with other people having some workflow difficulties by enabling ‘Continuously Rasterize’.
Thanks

February 11, 2014 at 1:56 pm in reply to: Linear Wipe Effect is basing itself on full layerYes I was able to retain layer sizes. Seems directly linked to enabling ‘continuously rasterize’.
I suspect I will end up having to animate a mask to reveal instead of using linear wipe. Which I was hoping to avoid as it is about 100 layers.
Thank you for your response.

Linear Wipe only interprets the layer as full frame size when ‘Continuously Rasterize’ is enabled and works properly when disabled.
Any suggestions?

The 14-bit RAW capabilities added to the 5D Mark III (through the use of magic lantern) make this debate much more complex than simply comparing colour sampling ratios.
I don’t want to get into all the complexities of the debate unnecessarily, but it is worth doing some research on the topic. There are many footage comparisons available that show the 14-bit raw having a greater dynamic range than the BM cam.
Colour sampling alone does not necessarily mean the better image.

[Pedro Conforti] “Same problem here. Can’t get the matte submenu on a node after adding the grain clip as a matte. Only if I add the matte for a specific clip, but not globally. Can’t figure out what am I doing wrong.”
Ditto. Can only get that option if it’s linked as a matte to that clip.

March 21, 2013 at 3:55 pm in reply to: The reason we are NOT buying a full DaVinci control surface is…I thought / was hoping it was going to be the fairly obvious answer of it’s $30,000!!! as well. But on the keying notion, I would say it could be better, but what it lacks in HSL keying it makes up for in incredibly stable and fast tracking. It’s true I may not be able to always pull an isolated key on a shirt, but I can quickly slap a mask on and track it in seconds if needed which usually gets me by.

I once had a younger subject where it looked like for sure he was wearing purple eye shadow. Then I met him in person and realized he did just have weird bags under his eyes!

[David Scott] “Strange it only limits the luminance and not also chroma levels?”
This is true, currently there is no way to limit the chroma levels inside resolve.
