    Duplicate the clip u want to effect and put the copy on top of it.

    With the duplicated clip:

    Create a mask around the area u want to effect using crop or one of the matte filters

    then apply the blur/filter to the masked clip

    – Its a bit prehistoric but will do the trick depending on the material. I definitely try keep this sort of work out of FCP, but to each his/her own..

    NOt sure you can use the Kona3 as a throughput conversion device u would have to capture then downconvert on the fly. To go deck to deck I would think u have to come out a SD monitor output that is composite with analog audio…

    Kona3 will down convert it on the fly to NTSC 29.97.

    Yeah we are looking for a fairly automated process so we dont have to put too manyman hours on dust removal and spend more time on VFX etc

    Went back to v6.0 works fine now… Went back up to 6.04 stopped working…Back to 6.0 for now

    Well looks like my system is the issue. I just tried an exported file on another system and no orange… Re-install FCP time.
