    Hi All

    Got a really weird problem.

I have exported an Uncompressed 10bit 4:2:2 HD sequence and then put the exported clip into another sequence matching the exact settings as the sequence. The problem is I get an orange bar there instead of grey goodness. I have done this countless number of times and had no problems. The orange bar goes away when i set the playback frame rate to dynamic but that is no solution.

Any hint as to what could be going on here?

When i export the same sequence using the AJA 10bit RGB codec and bring that into another sequence i get a grey bar – i just cant figure out why normal uncompressed 10bit 4:2:2 is giving me issues.

    cheers

    L

How’d you export it and what’s your original footage?

    I have exported with

    file>export>Quicktime Movie – Current Settings
    file>export>Quicktime Convert – 10bit Uncompressed 4:2:2

The original footage is 24fps 2k DPX sequences that are in a HD 23.98psf sequence

To add to that even when I export the exported sequence and bring it back in to the sequence still orange.

If you are working with DPX files, you should really look at Glue Tools. This will help with the problems and has easy setups to help you.

SO you’re working with 2k 24.0 files in an HD 23.98 timeline?

The frame rate difference is the first place I’d look.

Yeah i’ve looked into the TC thing, used Glue Tools etc. no luck, I even opened up a previous project where I didnt have to render and that now requires a render. its only occuring in HD+ formats… Bizarre

Well looks like my system is the issue. I just tried an exported file on another system and no orange… Re-install FCP time.
