    Hi Dave,

We’re having the same problems after our system was upgraded to 10.8.3 but even if we reinstall FCP still doesn’t load completely. Any thoughts?

I quite don’t get it, you mean the 720p/50 clips play at 50fps?

I get that the 720p/PN clip plays natively at 25fps but how come the clip settings says that it’s 720p/50?

I would really like to keep the slow mo effect of the clip by cranking the camera.

Is there a viable workaround aside from exporting the 720p/PN clips then importing it back to same project?

You just changed the project settings (1080i – 25i), not the nature of the clip.

Try transcoding clips to SD resolution. Highlight the clips in your bin, right-click then transcode.

Well that’s one way of interpreting it. But going thru the capture mode defeats the purpose of trying to check sync right away.
Plus I also got nothing coming if I use the capture mode. It detects I have a deck player/1394 input but no audio/video signal comes in. Perhaps if I can make the capture mode work then doing the live dub wont be too far fetched.

    Need some help guys.

first click on the clip whose color you wanna change, then go to edit tab at top, a drop down menu will show and go to set clip color, then choose the color you want.

it’s called a fluid morph. It’s a standard effect in avid from express versions & up. It is under illusion fx in the effect palette.

i understand how consolidating works but why do i need to decompose?

when you consolidate your media onto another drive, it makes copies of your original media right? will the image quality be affected in the process of reproducing another copy of the media?

do you have the same problem with projects of same setting?

    whats your video card?

for starters, try changing monitor resolution on where your avid can play smoothly.

then we’ll take it from there…

I had some problems before for the loading of xpress pro 5.7, just attached a video card and it worked fine.

Is there anything that the patch/upgrade resolve? The software takes some time to load up but i guess thats normal.

Does 5.7.2 come as a free patch or a paid set of upgrade?

If so, where can i get more info?

    Thanks.
