Thanks, Ed. As it happens, I had saved your newsletters and I appreciate the information in that issue. I was only able to get small, low-res stills out of Vegas before. Now I see why. Thanks again.

Thanks for the post. Actually, I just want one still; not a series of them. If you can refer me to a script that will do that quickly, I would appreciate it. I’m not a scripting kind of guy, actually, but I’ll give it a shot. I know I should learn something about that since it appears to be one of the powers of Vegas.

Anyway, I tried as you suggested but my problem is that no file is being created by the FrameServer. Nothing shows up in the tgarget folder — either as viewed by Windows Explorer or in the “Open” command from Photoshop. And the FrameServer progress bar just stays at 0% while the clocks counts up the time.

Hi Juanka. This is not much a suggestion, but…

It sounds as though you have used so much different software that I begin to wonder if hardware might be the issue. Have you tried looking at your output on a different monitor, just to make sure the monitor isn’t what’s driving you crazy?

Hi. It’s the full version, downloaded from the website with the introductory offer. I can’t remember whether it asked me to key in the serial number but I suppose that it did.

Hey Michael. Thanks very much. I did a quick search and didn’t come up with anything — until you posted the links. Much appreciated.

I still find After Effect enormously useful. I was on an After Effects forum the other day getting advice on removing three (moving) zits from an extreme close-up soundbite of a teenage girl. It was the critical soundbite in the piece but the client said it could not be used (for in-house personal/political reasons) unless the zits disappeared. I did it in AE using the “tracker.” That’s just a small example. After Effects is a huge program. Vegas and AE are apples and oranges.

I have the same problem sometimes when playing from the timeline. When I render out the final, though, the audio is fine. I’m fairly new to Vegas. Is this not typical behavior?

PS…the only reason is got good zit removal on that first frame was that I manually moved the mask down to cover it. I could do that in every frame, of course, but I sure would like to avoid doing it for 18 seconds-worth of frames! Plus, I’m hoping to learn something here…
