    Hi,
Any pro app will seem daunting to someone used to IMovie or MovieMaker. Check out the “lite” versions of some of the pro apps (Premiere Elements; Edius Neo2; Vegas Movie Studio, etc.).

    Hi,
I use Premiere Pro CS3, AE CS3, and Sony Vegas Pro 8c. AE isn’t really an NLE so I won’t discuss that here. Between PP CS3 and Vegas: they are both fine video editors but I find myself using Vegas a lot more. Don’t let the interface fool you. It’s an incredibly powerful program. Those are the only two that I’m familiar with. PP CS3 integrates (obviously )easier with AE but it’s easy enough to use with Vegas.

    Hi,
I am constantly amazed by how easy Particle Illusion is to use and at the same time how incredibly deep the program is. This is another example of that. It is such a fun program-Not many are.

  • Hi,
Use Particle Search and look for “Dust Puff”. A ton of them will show up–hope that’s what you need.

Thanks Grazie. That does work. Do you think it will work with a mask that is “evolving” as the clip runs? As I said, The shape of the mask at frame one is considerably changed by frame 300. I’ll try.
One more question: Did you ever get a definitive answer concerning “Vegas to Particle Illusion Workflow”? I’ve figured out a workaround but was hoping you would have a better way of working with 16:9 ratio from Vegas to PI3 and back again. Thanks again for your reply.
