Just cutting the people out of the background is the most labor intensive part of the project.

Ron Lindeboom has a great article in the current edition of Creative Cow magazine (pg. 40) called “Clients or Grinders: How the Market’s Three Main Personality Types Affect your Success.” It really made me think about they types of clients I really enjoy working with and those who make we want to reconsider my career. Fortunately I’ve been lucky enough to work primarily with the former and not the later.

One thing is that you shouldn’t have your media drives journaled. Journaling can decrease performance.
Here is an Apple article on optimal XServe RAID settings

Opps. I didn’t see Gary’s post prior to this one. Anyway it doesn’t seem as if downloading 5.1.2 is an option. You only get 5.1.3 as a choice. Bummer.

I had the same results. You login, enter your serial # and it goes right to the 5.1.3 page.

It doesn’t seem as if Apple is going to let me download the 5.1.2 installer. When you get to the software update page only 5.1.3 is available. Any ideas?

Here’s a 5.1.3 bug that appears after a while and requires restarting the application to correct. You try to edit the names of items in the browser and bins and while you can select the field, no typing is possible. The keys don’t switch to typing mode, but stay in the short cut mode. I’m rolling back.

    Walter,
Which of your third party plugins are problematic?

February 3, 2007 at 10:10 pm in reply to: firewire switch

I’m using an A/B switch from SignVideo https://www.signvideo.com/firewire-switch-ieee-1394.htm
to switch between Io and my DSR1500A (you can’t have Io and a FireWire VCR or Camcorder connected at the same time). It works as advertised except it’s very easy for the FireWire cables to disconnect from the switch if you are not careful in handling the switch. SignVideo has a 30-day money back guarantee.
