You can encode it with the default settings for DVDA video stream to mpeg2 (PAL or NTSC, as you’d like).
You won’t see any difference going higher bitrate. In fact you can go lower, but but be careful not to get compression artifacts.

No matter what projection set do you have, the VHS footage will look blurry. Especially such an old one you mentioned.

If the head switching noise disturbs you (that 8-10 lines on the bottom of the screen) you can hide it by properly adjusting pan/crop.
Stretch to fill frame has to be switched off – otherwise your video will be resized.

I completely misunderstood.
I thought you’d want to make a melody from a given piece of sound.

So now, I see (if I’m correct) the children are singing, and you want to keep that melody, just hide the text they sing?

If so, I would first play with reverb/flange or chours, resonant filters.
Also I’d triple the audio track and set on an octave higher, the other below.

Sorry no time to test now, these are just ideas, may be wrong.

But if you really need, I’d do something until monday 😉

Hi,

What I’d try:
get some audio from the kids words, so long that the longest note you want. Apply pitch change to it, the change you apply:
1 half note higher
-1 half not lower
12 an octave higher
-12 an octave lower

So, having many instences of that audio (each for a note in the melody) you can create the melody.
:)))

this is because you checked the option “simulate device aspect ratio” on the preview. Leave it on, so you see widescreen on the preview.

About photos:
I usually decrease their size, don’t put a 6 MPixel foto into a project, the double of the project size is enough. (Not though if I plan to zoom in a lot).

You should not have A/V sync issues. Maybe your computer can’t keep up while previewing, and the picture lags to audio, and you set up your project according to this lag; then when render out, the lag is not present, and you see the out of sync effect.
Try using a lower preview quality, I usually preview at 320*240 “preview”. Sometimes go back to 320*240 “draft”, if accurate timing is important and the project is too complex.

Another trick is to preview at half or quarter speed.

While previewing, transitions are calculated on the fly, so the framrate may drop, but you see this on the preview window.

First, it surely needs some cutting.

Apply some brightness/contrast filter, I think that will be enough.

Maybe, some color corretcion after BC, but that will you see if it is required.

I think there’s no so much RAM that comes no handy, so my suggest is that use as much as you can afford, or your motherboard supports.

This is my private opinion without digging for any “scientific” facts, so I may be wrong…
But I guess I’m not ;))
