If you decrease the rendering instances priority, you can even edit with another while it does the render. Of course in this case the rendertime may get inpredictable long.

Hi,

I guess you mean you have 5 instances of Vegas open, and all of them are rendering?
If you do so, you can be sure there’s no problem with it. I did it many times.
Note, that the CPU power is divided between instances of Vegas, so one project’s render time will take at least five times as it would normal.
However, rendering that 5 projects in series (one after one) would took approximately the same time.

So, in practice you don’t loose anything.

Just a trick: you can lower the priority of a rendering Vegas with the task manager below normal. Doing so ensures, your system stays responsible, otherwise you may wait few seconds after a mouseclick…
And if you do this, do with all the rendering instances, otherwise those with normal priority will take ALL the cpu from the “below normal” tasks.

If you don’t want to zoom in (pan/crop) resize the pictures to a size of that Allen said.
Otherwise, keep in mind, that when you resize it to too small and you plan to zoom it in, the pictures may get blurry, pixelated. The 1440*960 will be OK for an SD video, if you do your work for HD, you may want a higher resolution.

For doing the resize you can use any image-manipulation program, GIMP, Photoshop, ACDSee, etc. But I bet you got something bundled with your scanner. I’ve never seen a scanner sold without a photo-manipulation software, that will surely do the trick.

On the left side (if you didn’t dock it elsewhere) you see the objects of your DVDA project.
Looks something like:
Menu1
Menu1 (Page1)
Object1
Object2
Object3

Object1 will be the default highlited, if you want object3 to be the default, simply place it to the top.
So it will look like:
Menu1
Menu1 (Page1)
Object3
Object1
Object2

Hi,
Virtualdub itself doesn’t need to be installed, it just runs from the directory you copy it to, and it surely does not hurt Vegas in any way.
What could cause your problem is that “some codecs”.
I bet it’s a codec-pack.
I generally recommend against codec packs, as I’ve seen (well, it was rather Kaspersky lab:)) trojans in so called codec packs.

I see you tried to remove things…
If you manually deleted some parts of the installed anything, the uninstall may fail.
You could install the same thing to the same directory, don’t delete then anything manual, just do a regular uninstall.
You have a good chance that the uninstall will work.

In case, it fails:
If you install something, mostly there’s a restore point created automatically. Try to do a system-restore, if it does not work, you still have the option to do a clean install.
It just takes some time, doesn’t mean necessary loose all your work.
