No, you can’t even clear all the FXs on a group of events by copying the attributes of an event that has no FXs and pasting those attributes onto a group of events. You can only ADD FXs by this method, it never removes anything.

But what is even more frustrating is the result you get when you have two identical sets of FXs on two events and then you copy one onto the other and it doubles everything.

    Or am I missing something?

I’ll read up on the filter package, not even familiar with that.

All good suggestions except the first one. The copy and past attributes function seems to work only when ADDING FX to multiple events.

example: If all events on a timeline have 3 FXs and the operator deletes 2 of these from a single event, then copies and and pastes the attributes of that event onto the remaining events, they will retain the orig 3 FXs and have another one added. Likewise, can’t copy the FX of an event that has no FX and expect it to clear the FX from other events when pasted.

And, of course the crop attributes get copied along with the everything else.

So I just restarted the project.

Thanks for the filter package suggestion.

That is a decklink HD extreme card, not a 3D card!

June 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm in reply to: resampling , how to avoid it.

This is another one of those times when I learn….

I guess I always thought that a .m2v file was mpg2, but without the audio. The .m2v file is what I always get when I render to mpg2 without audio, an mpg elementary video file. That is what I have always imported into DVDA.

I was just hoping to create a m2v from the mpg2 on the Vegas timeline the same way I rendered the AC3, but without the re-sampling.

After discussing this I decided to import the ripped mpg2 into DVDA, deleted to orig audio and replace it with the EQed audio. This should get the job done.

    Thank you for the reply!

Thanks Aleksey! That was beginning to drive me crazy.

  • Agreed. A “sacrificial” blank caption a few seconds before the first real caption will usually so the trick.

    I always wondered why.

Ha Ha! Yes, I had a single short clip at about 2 hr down. I removed that and the size is now 2.2GB.

It’s still odd that it looks at the entire timeline, including blank segments, and ignores the region selected for actual burning.

I went ahead and selected a 2 min region and successfully burned a DVD of just that region.

    Mystery solved. Thanks!

I checked into that and I can’t find a setting that would kill this feature. Seems short sighted that they wouldn’t give the user that option.

“Now that we have it, how do you turn it off!”

I hope you found a solution to this problem you had a couple years back.

I have been trying to get an answer to a Windows 7, MediaShout, BlackMagic Decklink Extreme configuration for the last 2 weeks.

In your configuration, I assume you were using a BlackMagic card to output MediaShout video as opposed to a standard PC graphics card?

MediaShout doesn’t see my Blackmagic card. Is this typical?

There should be a CANCEL button in the very lower left hand corner. Just click it and it should halt the import.
