I would like to see more choices with both brands though – Mac users are always stuck with only a couple of outdated, underpowered and OVERpriced choices with graphics cards. ATI is introducing their 7000 series and nVidia gamer cards like the GTX580 are far more powerful and less expensive than the entry-level Quadro 4000 offered for the Mac. I hated paying $250 for my 5770 so I could run FCPX when the PC version is less than half that and a couple of generations behind.

If you watch the video they say their goal was 20db which they call “whisper quiet” – looks pretty awesome to me though I’m guessing one with 10k RPM drives and Quadro 4000 will cost a small fortune…. it should be Avid qualified too I would guess as there are no odd components.
Hoping we see some 3rd party PCIe Thunderbolt cards soon? For Mac and PC?

I’m sure a lot of us are tying to “make it work” – it would be a sad world if the only choices were the other 2 A’s. (no offense Edius and Vegas)
As long as Apple stays committed to making it work and listens to users, I think it will quickly be back as a respected pro NLE. They seem to be on a pretty fast track with fixes and updates – we’ll see if that continues…

Yes I noticed this problem too – was never a problem in 10 or earlier when the buss controls were also located next to the Preview and Master faders which I prefer and used daily.

February 10, 2012 at 6:19 pm in reply to: HDMI AV monitoring out from my graphics card in 10.0.3?He mentioned using his graphics card which requires a simple DVI or mini Display Port to HDMI adapter. I’m currently using a mini DP to DP cable from monoprice.com to go directly into a Dreamcolor for 2nd display – works great!

Download the 30 day trial and see if you like it any better than at launch – there have been many improvements both in features and bug fixes – still needs some work for sure but much better than original launch version.
