Try trashing the preferences (Shift+Option on boot-up).

If you have a Shuttle Pro (Contour Design) scrubbing is a breeze using the shuttle knob. Other buttons can also be customized.

CS6 and Mavericks 9.1 run just fine on my 2009 MBP. Also no problems with the Boris BCC8 package running in After Effects.

When installing BCC it looks for Premiere. Did you use the newest BCC installer for Adobe CC? Another test… are you crashing when using the same BCC plug-in with AE?

The hyper deck shuttle only records QT ProRes HQ. It does not offer the lower ProRes data rate options. Cable connections are not suitable to consumer cameras.

Matrox MXO2 mini with MAX will deliver fast H264 rendering for your web files. The quality is very good based on using the Matrox presets that come with the driver. Only one Matrox driver can be installed on a machine at a time. Of the three NLEs you have Matrox has been very stable with Premiere Pro. Be sure to install the driver for CS 5.5 and be sure it matches your windows OS.

Everything Jeff said. Been editing Sony EX3 footage native in PP for some time. This year I added the Blackmagic Shuttle2 recorder to the EX3 cam which records ProRes HQ 4:2:2 color straight from the SDI port. Native ProRes editing in Premiere is a huge improvement over Sony Long GOP.

Super drive is your DVD hardware. MacBook pro only accomodates one hard drive. SSD is a good choice.

Ease Out and Ease In bezier handles work well for me. Use ease out on the first keyframe. Set the very last keyframe to ease in.
