This is incorrect. The view settings should be on HD even if you’re workin with an SD DeckLink card as the down conversion is handled in the Blackmagic drivers and not by Final Cut Pro.

This is how Quicktime reports the size and should not matter. The correct size will show up if you view the clip’s info in FCP.

Hi,

This is most likely a reference issue. Make sure your deck is receiving a proper reference signal. I would recommend using a sync generator but if you don’t have one, loop the Y output of the card into the VTR’s REF IN, take the loop out and send that back into your component Y input. This should provide the deck with a signal to lock to.

Use the Blackmagic codecs. The gamma issue is only isolated clips captured with FCP 4.5.

After installing the DeckLink drivers, you’ll see DeckLink audio as an audio output device in your Sound preference pane. If you use that, all audio from your system will output via the DeckLink card. The Sound preferences do not affect your choices in FCP as FCP has it’s own preferences that over-rides the one in the System Preferences pane.

That’s a Multibridge HD which is a standalone converter (not PCI-X or PCI Express). It does not come with any capture cards so you’ll still need one in order to capture into your NLE.
