[Ahmed Sajid] “1. Will I be able to use it as an HD-Sdi to HDMI converter, so that i can run an HDMI feed from the HS, to a monitor, even when its not recording ?
Yes, you can. You can even use it as a battery powered converter when when you don’t have an SSD inserted.
2. Is there a loop-out function on Sdi, so I can get another feed to go on to a waveform monitor ?
Yes, all outputs as active.
3. What wrapper does it use for uncompressed 422 files ? I am guessing a .mov , would like to confirm anyway.”You’re correct. It’s a Quicktime compatible .mov file.

Hi Robert,
I think what the support guys are referring to is that the outbound bandwidth of the Dell M6600 is inadequate for uncompressed HD playback via USB 3.0. This is why when you down convert and output SD, it is fine.
We’ve seen this happen on a lot of USB 3.0 laptops where there is no issue capturing but the video drops out when playing back.

Did you install the Blackmagic Desktop Video drivers AFTER installing MC6? If not, you should uninstall the drivers and re-install again.

Hi,
This sounds like something documented as a known issue in this page:
https://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=420615
“Audio metering may flicker”
Does this sound about right?

November 11, 2011 at 2:42 pm in reply to: Black Magic UltraStudio 3D with Mac mini, what’s the best I can hope for, capture/playback?Hi,
UltraStudio Pro is USB 3.0. I think you’re referring to UltraStudio 3D?
Anyway, you’ll be fine with ProRes. Uncompressed will require a fast drive and the internal drive won’t be capable of achieving the speed. You can always download our Blackmagic Disk Speed Test application from the Apple App Store and see how your drive will perform with Uncompressed video.

Hi Chris,
You’ve misread the FAQ which is published by our distributor.
The statement only refers to the number of H.264 output.
The ATEM TV Studio also has 2 more SD/HD-SDI and 1 HDMI program output.
