Intensity Pro works by allowing you to input full resolution video and then decide what to do with it when capturing. Unlike the DV bridge you’re using which has a DV encoder and thus limiting you to the DV codec, you don’t have such a limitation with Intensity Pro.
That doesn’t mean you have to capture Uncompressed video though. You can also use the Blackmagic MJPEG codec we provide as well as any other that is quick enough to compress on the fly.
Vegas is another subject altogether. We current do not support Vegas with our current drivers.

HDLink is designed to provide a pixel for pixel output of your video and since you’re sending it an SD signal, it appears as a small image on your HD screen. However, you can scale an SD image 2x via an option in the HDLink utility. Can you verify that you’ve done so?

We make no distinction between PSF and P on file as this only matters in the actual transport of the video signal from one device to another. Since you’re going to be outputting to Hdcam, you’ll need to use PsF as the transport stream or the VTR will not see the video signal.

You’re right. Sony VTR uses the PsF transport method and we don’t currently support true P capture and playback, only PsF.
The question is if there is a display out there that takes a progressive (not PsF) HD-SDI signal for monitoring? Could you point me to one?

Hi,
The second SDI input is the channel B link for use when you’re capturing dual link 4:4:4 RGB video from a device such as the HDCAM-SR and is not a discrete input that you can toggle.

When you say you’re having trouble reading the files, what exactly is the trouble? Is it showing up in a different color rendering? Is it corrupted? Are you getting error messages from your system?
What kind of AVI codec is your VelocityQ system using? Is it 8-bit or 10-bit? Do you know what kind of FOurCC they are using? Maybe it’s a FourCC conflict?
There are still a lot of unknowns in this so further investigation is required.

It’s not the size of the monitor but the resolution. You’ll need a monitor that supports 1920×1200 so if the 22″ is of that resolution, it will work.
