  • Hi Dylan,

I don’t know of any built in feature in Final Cut Pro to do so as that feature is for DV and HDV clips where the date/time metadata is embedded. I think there are third party plugins you can run on your captured clip to break it up into subclip though.

    Hi,

Bob is correct. We don’t decode the audio.

Hey Bob, how many pizzas do we get if we do that? 🙂

    Hi George,

What do you mean by settings? Can you be more specific?

If you’re referring to the quality settings for MJPEG, then it’s currently locked down and is not user adjustable.

However, the quality is good. There is the offchance that the wrong encoder is being called. Do you have any other “codec packs” installed on your system?

  • Hi Larry,

I think you had a similar post a few days ago.

This is intentional because unlike the other applications you’ve listed, Media Express grabs hold of the one of our Blackmagic Design hardware. This means that if you’re not the active application, another application which is capable of video playout will still be able to use Media Express. For example, capturing using Media Express but laying out compositions in Adobe After Effects. If Media Express does not release the hardware, this means other applications will no longer be able to use them. This is similar behaviour to applications such as Final Cut Pro etc.

The hardware is not released on capture because an interruption is capture means having to recapture again.

That said, we should be able to do something about this and maybe implement a allow playback in the background option. Stay tuned.

    Hi Larry,

What is the source device that’s sending the HDMI?

Does unplugging and replugging the cable help?

    Hi Timor,

Thanks for the suggestions. We’ve never intended to have the arrows in the 20″ pushbutton layout view. But I’ll speak to the guys here and see what we can do.

  • Hi Bo,

If you’re encountering issues, have you tried contacting tech support?

Can you elaborate on the issues?

  • Hi Erwin,

Could you provide more information about how to reproduce the errors?

    What is your system configuration?

What presets are you working with?

Are the media the same format as the presets? If not, what are they? 720p DVCPRO HD? 1080i Uncompressed?

Hi Robin (who normally speaks french),

Since Blackmagic UltraScope doesn’t support HDMI, you must be going via a SDI to HDMI convert? What is it?
