Hi Dane,

The e to e path is working so you’re seeing output but it sounds like a bandwidth issue with the data going from the Intensity Pro card to disk, hence the flicker.

As a test, you can try capturing SD video and see if the problem goes away. That will be a very clear indication that it is a bandwidth issue, possibly something to do with your PCIe slot configuration.

What model is your motherboard? Do you have any other PCIe cards installed other than your graphics card?

Hi Trent,

Yes, and you’ll have to record ‘live’ to your computer via the Intensity Pro card as that will bypass the compression block on your camera.

However, there are also benefits to recording via HDMI to Intensi Pro even if the footage is already on tape. As HDMI is a uncompressed video signal, you also gain the flexibility to recording (to the computer) in another format of your choice as some native camera formats are not optimized for editing.

Hi Andreas,

As per Jay’s response, your capture in SD is always going to be 720×576 (PAL) or 720×486 (NTSC). It’s the display device that will stretch out the picture to provide the 16:9 preview.

In Media Express, you can toggle the option to monitor your captured clips as 16:9.

In fact, almost all DVD players we’ve tested have HDCP on the HDMI output regardless of what content you’re using.
