There are many. I personally like
https://www.rippletraining.comI’ve also heard that https://www.lynda.com/ is good.
If you google Final Cut Pro training you’ll find a wealth of info.

Thanks Jeremy. It is an excellent product (along with the import plug-in). And the engineers there are very helpful. All the best

Try to use the “arrange” clips command while the bin is selected. I’m not in front of the computer now but it should be in the “view” menu. That will line the clips up in rows. Be sure to enlarge your clip window before doing so. Unfortunately this part of FCP is annoying. In addition FCP will order the clips either by duration or name when it re-displays the clips. I’ve been waiting for the chance to display via timecode…
Hope this helpsDual 3 GHz Dual Core Intel, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon X1900, Xserve RAID, AJA IO, 2 20″ Cinema Display, FCP Studio 2 (6.0.6), OS X10.4.11

My final file should be a IMX50 in MXF wrapper. hat’s the format we’ve established for our organization archive. To accomplish this I use MXF4mac GC export plugin but can’t afford to install it on our 4 FCP stations. So the other editors need to get a file of their finished jobs to the FCP station that has the export plug-in. After consulting MXF4mac they suggest a Quicktime movie output in the same codec as the sequence and then take that file over to the computer that can export for our central archive. It’s an added step but will have to do for now. And saves $500 per station.

Yeah I know. I always do, yet those numbers have never appeared before nor do they appear on the other 2 cameras shooting DVCPro 50…

May 20, 2010 at 2:11 pm in reply to: Transfer P2 Files into Quicktime from FIRESTORE FS100Another option would be to check out Imagine Products “Proxy Mill”. I haven’t used it but according to the website it streamlines the process of doing what you need to do on this particular occasion.

Hope this helps.

May 13, 2010 at 5:07 pm in reply to: where to place .mov files before I import into FCP7?Hi Vince, I’ve always known that the best practice is to keep your project file on the internal hard drive of the computer and all media files on a separate external hard drive. Then always back up your project file at the end of the day. That is the file where all the sweat and blood of the day is 🙂

Hi Chris, don’t drag your footage but rather load it into the viewer and patch the video and unpatch the audio in the timeline window (page 116 of the online manual). FYI there is a FCP basics forum here on the Cow where you’ll find very helpful info since you’re just getting started.
