+1 what John said. Use a compressor filter. Or download “Levellator”. It’s free and works well

The latest content browser should work. It costs $20.

Sorry Tillman. I’m using the Ultrastudio express with FCP X and PrPro CC with no issues. Do the composite and component outputs work? Did this start after a driver upgrade? Try to roll back to the previous version of the desktop video software. Or else, you could have a faulty unit.

    Hi Daniel,
Am curious to know if you’re running it on a PC or Mac. Am using CC2015 on a 2009 MacPro and don’t have nearly the same problems your facing.

Like Andrew said, the Caldigit cards are pretty good.

  • Check out Color Grading central. They’ve got some really good ones, the Osiris and Impulz LUTs. But more than $50 though.

I still use ProRes 422 sequence settings in PrPro. You don’t have a preset, you have to create one. Cineform is apparently another good codec but I’ve never used it.

  • I chose to auto select the trim tool type under preferences>trim. This kinda works like the smart tool in Avid. The only time I use a shortcut is when I want to slip a shot. The rest works by hovering over the cut point, find it much easier.

  • OS X 10.10.13 Yosemite, MacPro early 2009, Quadro 400 for Mac.
Worked well last week with PrPro CC2014, works well today with PrPro CC 2015. In fact, only CUDA acceleration works for me with CC 2015. Open CL gives green frames, am not sure why. I also have Radeon HD5770 installed.

Thanks for the detailed response Neil. Good to know that your MC runs on the latest OS fine. After reading Shane’s post, I checked Avid’s support page. Says that the latest version has not been tested and certain Macs don’t play well. But MBP should be fine, I guess.
