The only problems with the iMac is that you can’t get CUDA goodness with the current display card. At least, max out RAM if you can.

No, it’s not possible to do all at once in Premiere Pro. Please file a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish
In FCP7 and earlier, you can use the Superimpose function: https://www.geniusdv.com/news_and_tutorials/2009/04/using_the_superimpose_feature_in_final_cut_pro.php

So you rendered out a H.264 file from AE and it won’t fully play in Premiere Pro. Can you re-render? Sounds like the clip might be corrupt.

Duplicate the footage on V1 and V2. Change the blend mode and add a gaussian blur effect on the V2 footage. Use the Fast Color Corrector effect to taste.
