Really? If that’s true, please let me know. I write the Help. On the page “File formats supported for export”, it says you can export WMV (Windows Only). If you saw that WMV is supported for export with Mac on any other page without the stipulation of “Windows only”, can you please give me the link? That way, I can fix the problem.

I had read other info from people on the web that it was an Adobe Premiere issue of why some of these effects don’t work like native effects and transitions do. I will contact Genarts and discuss the problem with them. Again I think your products are great and will continue to use them, I just want to make it better as everyone else. “

I just talked with the GenArts guy at the road show event, and you’re right. They couldn’t make transitions the way they wanted because certain limitations we have right now with our software. They do wish to. I apologize about this situation.I did want you to know that I talked to the Premiere Pro team about this, and about your particular case, so they are aware of the issue and are working on it.

To be fair to GenArts, we have some improvement to do to our SDK too, so that vendors like them can implement more custom parameters.
I just saw NewBlueFX demo’d last night. Very cool transitions in that package. Killer titler too:

Yes. After selecting the track, do the following:
On Mac OS: Cmd+K to add edit, Shift+Cmd+K to add edit to all tracks.

thats all fine and dandy but what happen to communication between you and bigger companies like Genart to make this right. Ive spent good money on these plugins just to find out that it takes me about 5 steps to put a nice Genarts glow between 2 clips in PPro when it only takes me one step in FCP 7.
We have no control how foundries choose to create their plug-ins. And yes, it is possible for them to make a transition the standard way, but they chose not to. Most plug-ins based on Apple Quartz Composer have limited capability, and these are the ones you mentioned. This is a beef you’ll have to take up with plug-in companies.

I was was thinking giving premiere a really good shot but this is discouraging. If ADOBE wants to be the top dog in the market-this has got to be an easier fix than you make it out to be. “
There are plenty of plug-ins that operate the way you’re used to, so choose those. If you’ve spent good money on plug-ins, but you don’t like the way they work in Premiere Pro, be sure to let the plug-ins foundries know that you’re disappointed and file a bug report with them.

A lot of the “Mac Only” transitions are based on Apple Quartz Composer. Apparently, when designing plug-ins that way, there’s no easy way to create a Premiere Pro transition the way we want them.
