Joe,
You’ll have to hook up a video monitor first of all.
Make sure your RT pop up is in Safe RT
Render the graphic
Make sure the dark green “FULL” bars are checked in the Sequence > Render menus.Amazing how often we see a post exactly like this. Search is your friend!

Render with the Dark Green “FULL” bar checked in the Sequence > Render Menus. RT Pop up menu to Safe RT and use a video monitor to actually see the rendered quality of the graphics.

April 8, 2005 at 5:37 pm in reply to: Is there a way to preview filters that come with FCP HD?No there isn’t. But many of the filters have so many varieties of “looks”, that it’d be hard to show a preview. Limited at the very least.
Hey check out my book and see all the cool things you can do with Motion Graphics and Effects. That way, you can preview what you want to do in your head first–then transpose it to FCP.

April 7, 2005 at 6:24 pm in reply to: Simultaneous Changes to multiple segments of text.Bog,
He’s gonna have to touch every single text generator regardless of using Title 3D or not. However, I’d just change one of ’em, do a Replace Edit on all of ’em in rapid fire. Then I’d go back in and merely change the text. Changing one thing is faster than changing 4 things. What you’re talking about sounds like a feature request. Unfortunately.

April 7, 2005 at 5:21 pm in reply to: Simultaneous Changes to multiple segments of text.Nope. You have to do them one at a time. BTW, I suggest using Title 3D and not the legacy title generators. The quality and control is much better. Title 3D’s on the install disk in the Extras folder.

Q: Are you doing 8 bit or 10 bit? Are you capturing long clips? Is the FireWire drive a FireWire 800 drive?
A: It’s possible to do 8 bit, if you keep the clips fairly short and the drive is a FireWire 800 drive that is properly initialized.
If you have a tower, may I suggest you use a second internal SATA drive for 8 bit? You should get a RAID for 10 bit.

Hey Michael,
Oh, you can do it–absolutely. If you have a heterogeneous network, you can add non-Mac OS X clients to your Xsan-based SAN using ADIC -
Are you copy/pasting title generators? Or title generators within a nest? If it’s within a nest, you have to duplicate them in the Browser, not copy/paste them. OPT + D to duplicate.
I also suggest using Title 3D, not the legacy generators….
