Is there a way to preview filters that come with FCP HD?
I wanted to know is there a way to see what each of the filters that ship with Final Cut Pro HD, look like including what the extra options add to the overall look of the filter? Any advice is appreciated in advance.

No there isn’t. But many of the filters have so many varieties of “looks”, that it’d be hard to show a preview. Limited at the very least.
Hey check out my book and see all the cool things you can do with Motion Graphics and Effects. That way, you can preview what you want to do in your head first–then transpose it to FCP.
