Why does title change a previous one???
Most of the time when I am placing text over consecutive, six second freeze frames, the newer title often changes the first title. I have to go back and re-type the first title. Sometimes, other titles in the sequence change as well. This has bugged me for 2 1/2 years and I would like to find out what I am doing to cause this. I use a G4 and just purchased a 2.5 g G5 and it does the same thing. So, it must be me.

You need to give us a lot more information about what title tool you’re using and exactly what you’re doing to create the titles in the sequence. This normally doe snot happen.

Are you copy/pasting title generators? Or title generators within a nest? If it’s within a nest, you have to duplicate them in the Browser, not copy/paste them. OPT + D to duplicate.
I also suggest using Title 3D, not the legacy generators….

Thanks Tom for the help. I am using the FCP Outline Text. First I have a series of six second freeze frame shots adjacent to each other. I make the text and drag it down over the six second freeze frame and drag the side to make it snap to the six second borders of the freeze frames. Say I have made twelve different pages of text over twelve six second freeze frames. I go back and look at the first one and it is the same as the last one. Sometimes I look at one in the middle and it has changed to the last one typed. I hope I have explained this well for you because it has caused me lots of wasted time. I know that if one of the pages is selected and new text or changes are made in the text box, the title changes.
I am not nesting anything.
