Hi Kent,
Personally, I just Option + drag either audio or video to make the split edit in the Timeline. Feel free to make a feature request if that’s not what you’re looking for. Thanks,

Hi Kent,
You can find split edit commands in the Marker menu and contextual menu in the Source Monitor. If you’d like keyboard shortcuts, make a feature request: https://adobe.ly/feature_requestThanks,

Hi Michael,
I believe you are confusing the difference between subtitles and captions. You cannot create subtitles from captions or vice versa. To make subtitles, you have to create them with the Titler. This can be tedious, so you can use plug-ins (https://www.eztitles.com/index.php?page=premiere_plugin or https://www.sugarfx.tv/info/subtitles_SUGARfx.html) or even inDesign (https://vimeo.com/80445034).Thanks,

Can’t your drop your playback resolution to 1/4 or lower? That is 4K on an iMac, you know. 😉Kevin

September 20, 2014 at 12:00 am in reply to: Premiere Pro Media Manager not trimming interlaced filesHi Tony,
Unfortunately, the Project Manager can fail on some file based formats. That’s why it’s completely revamped in the next version of Premiere Pro (due out very soon, sorry I can’t say exactly when). I looked in our database and there is no mention of an issue with interlaced footage. I don’t expect there will be a problem with it.Thanks,

September 19, 2014 at 9:33 pm in reply to: Finding in Project: Custom Sift | Sift SelectedHi Trevor,
I hear you, Find could be a lot better. The cool thing is that it’s vastly improved in the upcoming version of Premiere Pro. We’ll have Smart Bins to add searches to. There are additional search fields to refine your search. There is also a killer new Find feature for the timeline with the same ability for custom sorting. Thanks,

September 18, 2014 at 7:42 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC14 and After Effects CC14 crash on start upHi Constantin,
Sorry about that. It looks like Premiere Pro is not detecting your NVIDIA card. There are a couple of things to check:Check this informative forum post: https://forums.adobe.com/message/4400607#4400607 Please try the steps that Pallav A suggests.
Reset Preferences
Update video drivers by manually inspecting the driver and updating from the website, not auto updating
Disable startup items that are preventing your NVIDIA card from being seen.
Login to the hidden administrator accountSee this doc for potential solutions (#1 and #4 should be checked out): https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/error—preludevideo-play-modules.html
If the solutions suggested here do not work for you, I can also set up a call for you from one of our pro video support agents, if you like. Please let me know if you want me to do that.
Thanks,
