I have a Mid 2010 iMac with 2.9 i7, only 8GB RAM and a 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5750 GRFX card. Anyone else with that setup having issues with longer projects and lots of layers / filters?

I usually edit the 4K footage on a 1080 timeline and for the most part it is pretty smooth but after
adding pan/scan moves, color correct, layers, titles and a few others the renders can take forever and playback can freeze or stutter (playback full frame rate 1/2 quality).

I do not believe that my GRFX card is supported for Premiere to hand off some of the heavy lifting to it?

Would another 8GB of ram really help? or better to get a used mac with a supported GRFX card?

    Thanks,
    Harry
