  • I would suggest you DO render your audio as 1 clip so that you can maintain synch. WAV is much higher quality than Mp3. You should also render it as 48k and tell your 3rd party editor to give it back to you at 4k, again for synch issues

The veg file has no logo. It is just a white icon. All these files were created in VP-12. Everything seems to work well but the veg files all say vp-11

Each audio track in Vegas has an effects button in the left window of the track. When you click the effects button a window opens up that will allow you to assign many different effectc. The compressor effect is fully adjustable and works well.

The same options are available on the master audio track if you want to apply an effect to your final mix

  • We have a travel radio and TV show and I edit in the field with a laptop all the time. I shot with Sony A1-U’s and Z1-U’s (HDV)as well as Kodak ZI-8 and Kodak Playsport waterproof (SD cards) cameras.

I have used an HP core 2 duo for years and now I use a Toshiba I7 with 8Gb of ram. It ROCKS! I see very little difference, if any, between that and my desktop machine.

You want to get the highest speed hard drive possible, at least 5200rpm, but 7200rpm is preferable.

You definately want to use a seperate hard drive for your footage.

    Cheers

I had a similar problem that drove me, everyone on this board, Sony and my computer manufacturer crazy for a week or so.

It turned out to be a corrupted font file.

I had installed an older version of Microsoft Office after installing Vegas Pro and that started the problem.

Did you install any other programs after you installed Vegas Pro? Perhaps a word program or something that has it’s on font files?

I also found that as I used other programs this same problem became noticable on them as well.

If that is the problem you may have to do a “restore” to your computer which means you may have to re-install all your programs. I’m sure that is not what you want to hear, but it solved my problem

    Good Luck!
