February 18, 2016 at 5:45 pm in reply to: Can’t export Sequence after latest update Premiere CC 2015.0.1Dane,
We had the same problem after updating to vs 9.1.0 and on a Mac with El Capitan OS. Couldn’t render or export movies. Kept getting the “error compiling movie – unknown error” message. Footage was a mix of H.264 from a DSLR and MXF from a Sony FS7. Decided to transcode all the footage to Pro Res and problem was gone.
We’ve decided to adopt a transcode everything workflow because we’re tired of dealing with all of the playback and export problems when dealing with mixed formats in Premiere Pro. I know it’s sold as an “edit with any format” software, but it just creates too many headaches and we waste way to much time trying to get it to work properly.

Batya,
I have the same problem with timeline/video locking up. Upgraded to 9.1 last week. Usually works for about 5-10 minutes and then it freezes. I can move around and click on different menu items, but the video is locked up in the preview window and on the timeline. Only way to fix it is to restart. I called tech support and they trashed my folders and pulled my plugins out. Worked for a while but I needed the plugins and put them back and now the problem has surfaced again. My plugins are Neat Video, Red Giant Cosmo filter, FilmImpact. I guess I’ll have to play hide the plugin and take turns testing which one may be causing the problem.
My specs:
Mac Pro (late 2013)
Yosemite 10.10.5
Memory – 32GB
Graphics – AMD FirePro D700
Cache files are saved to an external SSD thunderbolt drive -

December 4, 2015 at 9:11 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC 2015 Bug — won’t accept animation codecI had a similar issue with some animation codec movies with alpha channel suddenly going offline. I tried to relink and ended up with the “clip contains no audio or video stream” message.
Ran a search and found someone mentioning if you change the .mov to .mp4 it would work and sure enough… was able to relink to the clips. Seems like a bug that popped up during the recent 2015 update.
I’ve always used animation codec exports from AE for graphics without a problem until this.

…Add me to the list!
Primarily happens on interviews. About 4-6 minutes in the audio suddenly just flatlines. Seems like it’s probably close to a span point and the audio just isn’t coming along for the ride???
Anyone have a solution?

Go Pro actually has an app you can use to get your clips into the ballpark. I think its called “GoPro Studio” and is free. I usually use this to get the clips close first and then fine tune in Premiere or Davinci.

Looks like I solved my own problem.
For future reference, I had my keyboard plugged in to my Apple Thunderbolt Display that runs… yes “thunderbolt” to my Imac. This was apparently creating a conflict with any USB devices connected to that display while the mini monitor was plugged in. Plugged my keyboard into the IMac USB port and “wah-lah” No more keyboard problems. Still doesn’t resolve the issue with using USB ports from the display but at least I’m back in business.
