Haha, yes Mads, I know it has come a long way since RX4. RX4 Advanced has been a good solution for my post video work.

Do you have experience using Clarity VX Pro?

Hey Usama, thanks for the reply. Have you used both, and been able to compare the results personally?

Eric, I exported a prores version and the pixelation was not there! So thank you.

But get this, when I transcoded that .mov to h.264 for YouTube, the pixelation was back. SO weird.

Looks like I did have copy files on under copy media–thank you. I am still finding things since the update, and I figured it was something simple.

Sounds like comb filtering, found on a zoom call or something similar. Getting rid of that is above my head.

I would be able to help with the echo with de-reverb processing. Look into it. I use izotope rx, but it’s pricey, although works pretty well.

It may just be that you need a quieter location to record. And the good NR options are not going to turn out a great recording when you aren’t putting quality in at the beginning–in other words, it doesn’t justify time and money when you are just recording with a phone.

Traffic can be very tough, as it’s often not consistent which is where NR shines. You may need to scrub out each car using spectral views or something like that.

Whatever you do, it will be a challenge.

Noise reduction software. I use izotope rx, and it is excellent.

I think Adobe has some options built in as well.

Actually, AJA has been pretty helpful, and looks like there actually might be a chance that I could use an adapter. But my understanding is that Apple tries very hard to make nothing T2 work on a T3 computer, and with OS updates blocks drivers and such. I’ve tried using it, and the TTap shows up in system report, but it won’t be seen as a capture device. Thanks for the response, Mark Grance.

I think you are right, Tero. At least that’s what it’s looking like.

I wish I could still use my AJA box, as it allowed you to decide what output it sent. Thanks for forcing me to “upgrade” Apple 🙁

That’s really good to know about Resolve! I had not heard that. I may have to finally give it a try…

    Thanks for the response, Tero,

I assume you mean Preferences/Playback/Setup on the BM device?

Yes, I am scaling down, but I think it is scaling down to the 2K signal and the wrong aspect ratio, which is compressing the image and letterboxing it.

Is that what you’re talking about?
