thanks Andrew, yes did a search, and the places are many. I shooting with basic Maxell, cause that’s what I started with on the GL1 and many say you should stay with brand started.

    thanks Matte:
I may do that for sure. or just let the editors I use handle it, but, now that I have exp, wondering ( please excuse the lameness here,)
but what is the most important benefit of seeing the timecode in the project you are working on. I have to ask now that I realize that many semi -pros are using exp.

    thanks Matte:
How to you know the heads are aligned? You just eye it? what you see the playback looks like on the used LCD.

I guess the you would not recommend buying from Ebay, ie through UPS sight unseen. Never bought anything before from a pawn shop, but will notate this advice.

BTW your tape is mini DV?

I”d be buying used for duping purpose, but I guess you would know pretty soon if the unit was bad at any point?

Funny, I never paid attention to the clip function in FCP. So the main difference between clip, and log and capture is that with clip you have to capture all you clips immediately, and with log and capture, you mark the ins and outs, and then later can do it in a batch.
thanks Tom. Any opinion on Express?

    Excellent Matte,thanks again.

So the difference then would be that with FCP Pro you would see somewhere you were at 35 min of your 60 min tape, but with exp, you wont see that. Practically is that a bummer?

    thanks Shane:
Well , FCP is one of many , many things I use my G5 for, but had I known, maybe I would not have upgraded, for sure. Someone mentioned I could boot into Panther and use FCP 3, but it is bit of hassle. I still think Apple are pricks for doing this though, is that too harsh
