Figured that’s where it might be, I’ll look into it… I’ve always steered clear of FCP’s Media Manager. But will it also find other files (besides media-footate) associated with the project like Live Type, Motion, Photoshop, Music etc?
    Thanks,

Lock the audio tracks on the timeline by hitting “shift 5”. Otherwise recapture w/o audio.

This might be Ken Stone’s method.. but you can do it in FCP using the 3 way color correction filter Destaturate it then tweak the settings in the “limit effect” drop down menu. Use the check marks to invert the settings. Then adjust the color settings/sat/luma/edge thin/and softening until desired effect is achieved.

Yes, it’s still compressed. It’s compressed from the moment the DV Camera records the image. Don’t use composite out (the yellow rca/bnc) that won’t help.
Light the green screen as evenly as possible and you might be ok.

  • I mean this with the utmost respect…
What you REALLY need is a camera. In this line of work, it’s highly recomended.

Yes, I’ve seen the other posts. I did some searching-believe me. They are vague, at best, on how to solve the problem. I’ve already captured the footage and was hoping to just convert it instead of re-capturing and as I stated, Cinema Tools instructions aren’t clear either. (ken stone’s page refer’s to using Cinema Tools but doesn’t say how to convert).

If anyone can provide some more detailed steps I’d appreciate it. Usually these things are pretty intuitive to me but I’m at a loss on this one.

    Thanks,

Thanks. I read the article and the manual in Cinema Tools and still don’t “get” how to convert it. I don’t see where it actually “exports” the advanced pull down.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

Have the same setup. Using a Blackmagic Decklink SP Card. Uses compontent video and XLR audio I/O’s as well as deck control. I think it runs about $600 U.S. I don’t know how this compares to the “Extreme”
    Hope that helps,

    HUH?
“Digital Audio can’t distort”…. try it, you won’t like it.

    MR. Old School is correct.

June 23, 2005 at 10:47 pm in reply to: Very basic audio question

Shift + F5 will lock (toggle on off) all audio tracks. then when you drag down the selection it will only take video. Easiest work around I’ve found. Too bad there’s not check boxes like in Media 100.
Need audio and not video Shift + F4.
