Good advice again – just rendered the part I need as a test, after blurring and rounding #’s as advised. Strobing not so much the problem, bad image and color bleed though. Wonder if I could send a screen grab to someone to look at?

Good advice – I’ll try it asap, currently in the middle of a render however, but question is – the problem is not so much flicker as color bleed/double image AND flicker. I could send you a screen grab if need be.

    Thanks

Well, Video = De-interlace, Flicker filter…Stibs = field swapper, de-interlacer…Too much too soon = blend fields, fast de interlace, reduce interlace flicker…any suggestions?

Thanks Kevin – I’ve tried about 5 different filters (FCP and plugins) but none have worked…I could freeze the frame and use this, but really want the moving video not a FF. Any other ideas out there?

    Hi Steve:

Thanks for reply – never had to do above suggestion in 4.1, this is first time I’ve used 4.5 to make MPEG 2, so I followed your advice, checked all rendering, did a mixdown -and it did now export to MPEG 2, however, why did I have to do a mixdown, and what does it do, put all tracks as a stereo pair?

    Thanks

Thanks Bret for reply – can you believe it, been through so much and nothing makes this work as it used to – tried saving the file in LT, closed LT, it updated in FCPHD, did a right click on the clip in timeline, it again opened it up in a new pop up window as described in first message.

Still not opening LT file up in LT from FCP HD timeline! Tried repairing permissions – no change. I’d hate to have to replace manually all LT files (as you rightly suggested) since FCP HD is supposed to reconnect and open these LT files appropriately, if correct external editor is chosen.

    What else?

    Thanks Steve:

Actually, with 4.1, I was able to open the ipr files the way I described because I only upgraded the Livetype and Compressor apps last year..FCP HD only last month. However, I would have thought in HD, it would of course open the LT files in LT not a separate window w/in FCP. Would love to have this working again.

    Thanks
