The IWICS “ring/balls” is a psd, IWICS itself is Livetype font…imported the ring/balls into LT via “place”, squeezed down to size. The ipr file is 720×480, lower field dominance, drop frame…imported into FCP 4.5 by dragging into viewer, then editing it in as normal…the “registration” problem seems to be embedded in the MPEG 2 file, playing or paused. I encoded through QT conversion, 2 pass, best, 7.4-8.4 (High bit rate just as a test).

    Thanks

The screen grabs were in still mode, but even on the TV from a DVD player – as it’s playing – this color bleeding and double image appears. Now if this is simply the nature of the beast, then I’ll just have to live with it.

    Thanks

    Hi:

Actually, can you believe it, it did look good on my TV out of FCP 4.5, but when I made an MPEG 2 (which I need ultimately) test of the section, the same double image is still there! I posted a good result too soon. If I could send a screen grab of the graphic with its problem to someone to look at maybe this would help identify the issue.

    Thanks

Thanks Matte for help and interest – I’m away from the edit station now until next week! but will try your experiment when I get back.

The ipr file is lower field dominance, as is the seq. So if when (next week) I make it 4 or 6 sec long and it works, what should I do since we need it about 2 sec? If it doesn’t make a difference, what then? Thanks again for help.

OK, after much fiddling with positioning, replacing with a FF of the video, rendering an MPEG 2 – result = still a double image whether moving or still…the effect is simply about a 2 second move from off screen top to off screen bottom, full screen, revealing incoming shot as this graphic goes off camera. Is it possible the image has too fine lines? When parked, on external monitor as a still – double image, flicker…when played on monitor fine/excellent. When rendered into MPEG 2 (for DVD) it has the above STILL problem, even in play mode, not just still. Would love to know if this can be fixed or have to live with because of MPEG 2 or DV, I don’t know.
