Thanks for all thoughts…that Carbonite looks like some sort of time machine but online…can’t quite understand what they mean that when I erase my external hard drive the Carbonite material goes as well(?) What?

Maybe I should just get another drive and give it to a neighbor…But I was just hoping for a simple online based storage so I can access at any hour my mov files if I need to, from home, while they are securely stored in cyber space somewhere.

Alan – I tried Cinema Tools – not so good, still interlaced and now 190mbps instead of the interlaced master’s 220mbps – and I need it to be 23.98 and progressive, how to do, what to choose on below menus?

Or is COMPRESSOR better? What to choose so there’s no degradation?

And the NINJA records to any flavor of PRO RES you want – I always choose Pro Res HQ.

Sadly the NINJA is HDMI only, and records whatever a camera sends it through HDMI, so EX1R sends a 1080 60i signal out of HDMI even though I’ve got 1080 23.98p set…so I do have to reverse telecine the thing – I need the 1080 60i record to unwrap to original 23.98p…so do I use cinema tools? I need it to be progressive, 23.98 and no degradation.

Thanks for reply – Funny you say that route as I did try that in QT PRO (not Compressor) – and played with the saturation, contrast brightness – but as you say it’s pretty hit/miss – the purple color came out more blue

So outside of the adjustment to an h264 file, I guess there’s no other way? Seems kind of hit/miss…anything we can do in FCP 7 to the settings of timeline for instance? Or is the real culprit the compression to h264 (probably)?

In addition you could also add motion blur to the shot (once its sped up) in FCP under MOTION tab, then Motion Blur, play with the settings to taste.
