IMO, definately go with a BOXX machine if you want professional quality. I find alienwares focus not to be on digital media but more on the gaming crowd.

yep, the duplicating and blending mode method works well and you don’t suffer from extremely long render times like when using magic bullet

change your comp settings to use a frame rate of 23.976 and re run the auto setup.

to answer jetle25’s question…in the included source footage, the PNG’s were 760×560 resolution..they seemed quite high quality to begin with…and its logical that you would need HQ images for them to scale w/o pixelation

I suggest something along these lines

    Athlon 64 X2 4800+ $900
    4x1GB PC3200 DDR RAM $320
    ASUS A8N-SLI Motherboard $130
    2x300GB 7200RPM HDD’s SATA with 16MB cache run in a RAID array $130 each for 300GB
    BFG Tech 7800GT PCI-Express video card $400
    Matrox RT.X100 Xtreme Pro $600
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum $175
2×23″ Apple Cinema Display $1325 each

this can handle anything you throw at it…you can go with 2xdell 2405fpw’s for a less costly setup…being that people can get them on sale for $800-900 each.

Alright, seems to have worked out. After clicking the object, my pc stops responding for about a minute(don’t know why) and then AE starts working again. I have no idea why only AE stops responding but all of my other programs are working perfectly within this time period. Anyways, problem solved. Thanks for your help JD. Nice demo reel 🙂 I hope to be able to have the skills to make something like that asap. Gotta thank my school for bringing these high quality tools to me and other students at a very low cost 🙂
