It was originally promised on June 26 ….so I wont even hazard a guess. The company is thriving and PI3 is great for stuff even as a stand alone program.

I’ve used Trapcode Particular for smoke effects, and it’s worked pretty good. Be prepared to have A LOT of RAM or time for the rendering.

particleIllusion standalone works very well with AE. Download a trial from wondertouch.com to give it a shot. It comes with over 1300 preset effects, which particular doesn’t come close to. Not that particular is a bad plug-in – it’s pretty good, but you need to build almost everything from scratch. pIllusion will give you what you need in minutes if not seconds.

Thanks for the suggestion. Are you at a disadvantage working with Particle Illusion in that
it is not incorporated in AE in terms of modifying the effect directly in your comp?

    Thanks,

    Eric
