  • I know this is an old topic but if it helps someone, you must set DVDSP to HD DVD in the preferences menu. For an SD disc, HD anything is incompatible. 1080 to 720 via FCP is easiest.

    It sounds like you need to use the ‘match frame’ command.

    Sapphire has a nice one in the new bundle. Otherwise, if none of the FCP plugins work, probably bring it into photoshop. There are some great ones. Snap Art is perfect. I’d apply to a 2nd layer and tweak the opacity and or apply on one channel only to be more subtle.
    Also, think about background blown up with a gaussian / illustration effect, etc. with a normal foreground picture.
    There’s a lot of tutorials around for that too.
