Can’t you have a layered or smart layer based layer converted into a 3D sphere layer? If you can animate the movement of the flat layers independently and then composite that into the 3D sphere is what I’m thinking. I haven’t tried it myself, but it maybe possible.

You can perform some cool 3D text effects with Zaxwerks ProAnimator or Invigorator too. I thinking huge letters for “Largest” sale ever type car ads I see.

What version of AE do you have? If you have the new CS4 and Photoshop Extended CS4 you could try the new 3D model option of converting your planes in Photoshop to a sphere and rotating the 3D object that way.

Thanks for all the great tutorials, however the way this post thread reads is like Aharon is having a funeral or something. It is not an end of an error, just a change in direction.

I understand he will not be able to make tutorials as much any more, if possibly not at all.
But he has been part of this community and I doubt he will just walk away (he care too much).

I wish Aharon the best of luck. Please drop a line in the board from time to time.

  • Andrew Kramer has a tutorial where he is walking through a very similar effect.
Check out videoCopilot.net and the colorful universe tutorial.
    This seems pretty similar.

How is the video going to be viewed at? What I mean is, how are most of your viewers going to connect to your site and watch it? Broadband? Dial-Up? There should be some presets that Sorenson supplies for you. You can go off of that and experiment with 1 or 2 sec clips to see what results look best.
The presets are pretty good but it is a matter of tweaking from there that is all based on your video footage your trying to convert. Results may vary.

If you have Illustrator you could make an extruded 3D coin there and possibly several layers of the same thing to make a composition to animate in AE. Your coins though in this manner would not animate like 3D objects. You would just be making a stack of images of coins in various positions and animating the images from the stack.

I believe you can do this in AE, but I’m just looking around in my setup and I can’t find it.
Personally I have learned that AE really doesn’t do the best job at Flash compression. Aharon Rabinowitz would probably agree.

I use Sorenson Squeeze for Flash and it does a great job of compressing my animations as well as having some abilities to do what your asking for. Hard coding URLs in the SWF file is done in Sorenson before you export to SWF. Not sure how you go about after you have one.

Another thing you might want to ask is if your file can be an FLV and have the SWF player load it up. Newer versions of the Flash player appear to favor this method of delivery. It is what Adobe is using in their Adobe Media Player.

Sorry if this isn’t much help if can’t get Sorenson Squeeze.

Sorry I was incorrect. Master collection never included Lightroom apparently.

Sorry, I was wrong, Lightroom did not come with the Master Collection.
