The only thing I can think of is to check to make sure you are connected to one of the SDI “out” on the back of the Decklink HD Extreme card. The SDI I/O aren’t labeled (on my card at least) so look in the Decklink manual.

Why don’t you just buy a new 1TB drive and do a clean install of the OS and FCP on that? Then install your old 1TB drive in drive bay #2, transfer over the files you need from your old drive to your new system drive, and then use the drive in bay #2 as your back up drive.

Agreed that this needs to be in the Blackmagic forum, but…
Do you have a Decklink Extreme (as stated in your post), Intensity (as stated in your subject line), or Intensity Pro?
Neither of the Intensity cards has SDI out.
Intensity has HDMI I/O only.
Intensity Pro has HDMI, component, and composite I/O.
Decklink HD Extreme has SDI, HDMI, component, and composite I/O. -
I have been using FCP for over ten years and have never experienced this.
I would think that a clean re-install would fix it. -
Have you checked your Blackmagic settings in “System Preferences”? This is where you set the video and audio output connections and also the input and output processing (up-convert, down-convert). Perhaps one of these settings needs to be changed?

I was between projects and installed Snow Leopard. I bought a new 1TB hard drive, removed my Leopard HD, and did a clean install of Snow Leopard and all of my applications. It took me a couple of days to install everything but so far I haven’t had any problems. I just finished two projects (a 30 minute SD and a 10 minute HD) and didn’t have any problems.

Why not just purchase four, 7200 RPM, 2TB drives?
