Sounds like you have the right idea. The best way to do a clean install is to just pull out your system drive (Bay #1) and put it in storage. Purchase a new HD, put it in Bay #1, and re-install everything.

My Sony HVR-1500 will capture standard def perfectly every time. Any HD material and it has all kinds of problems. Oddly enough, Premiere captures both HD & SD perfectly 100% of the time. See my previous posts here:

I have never used the Tiffen branded set of filters, but several years ago I used these filters on an Avid when it was called “Digital Film Tools 55mm” and they took forever to render. I only ever used it on :30 or :60 second spots because any long form stuff would take all night to render. Of course, this was 5-6 years ago on a G4.

I have had a drive go to sleep and totally confuse FCP. I have read that this a common problem with some external drive manufacturers but not so much with others.

[Jeremy Garchow] “OK, that’s cool. Then you can simply type in the in point for your first clip (which should be 00:00:00:15 right in the browser under the “In” column. Then (and this will be a bit tedious, but ok) you option drag that in point to the next in point. You can then do the same for the out, out point is 00:00:10:15, then option drag the out point to each clip. Add them all to the timeline, then select all and hit command-t.”
I know I could type in all of those numbers for each clip, but I am trying to avoid repeating the same procedure 350X.

I changed the default transition to 2:00 (60 frames) and it made all of the dissolves 1:00.

No. They all start at 00:00:00:00.

Wouldn’t this require me to “line up” each of the 350 movies?
